Join us for a Jewish community town hall with Freedom For All Massachusetts, Hebrew College and Keshet.
There is a dangerous initiative on the 2018 statewide ballot that would repeal protections for our transgender neighbors, friends and families. This November will mark the first time a referendum repealing existing civil rights protections has EVER been forced onto the ballot in Massachusetts. And on top of that, it’s the first ballot question of its kind targeting transgender people anywhere in the country.
Politico called Massachusetts “the next transgender rights battleground”—and it’s true. If our opponents win here, it’s only a matter of time until the dignity of transgender people in every state across the country will be under threat too. In the nationwide movement for transgender protections, the stakes have never been as high as they are in Massachusetts right now.
Come learn more about the ballot initiative and what we can do as a Jewish community to help defeat it.
