Join us this year on Erev Rosh Hashanah to sing, rejoice, and pray as one, in a joyous combination of our majestic and contemporary styles. We are a vibrant tapestry of sweeping poetry and beautiful music, instruments, and voices; we are transcendent and immanent; we are Temple Israel; we are one.

Then schmooze with friends both new and old as we ring in the new year! Together we’ll celebrate the start of 5784 with fabulous food, delectable drinks, and most importantly, the warmth of community.

Erev Rosh Hashanah, Friday, Sept. 15:

• 7:30 p.m.: Community-Wide Erev Rosh Hashanah Service (in mixed presence, onsite and online)
• 8:45 p.m.: Grand homecoming community schmooze (onsite), preceded by a family pre-neg at 6:45 p.m. for kids in third through seventh grade and their families (onsite)
• 10 p.m.: Shofar Experience (onsite): Together we will gather for an unrushed opportunity to reflect on the extraordinary sounds of the shofar. We will begin in the Sanctuary and end in the Garden, traveling through the aural experience of the shofar, which calls to us as it awakens our souls. This holiday summons us to hear, to heed, and to hearken to our responsibility for t’shuvah. This moment will be an island of time to consider the meaning of Rosh Hashanah as Yom Teruah, the day of the sounding of the shofar.

Rosh Hashanah, Saturday, Sept. 16:

• 9 a.m.: Early Community-Wide Rosh Hashanah Service (in mixed presence, onsite and online)
• 11:30 a.m.: Late Community-Wide Rosh Hashanah Service (in mixed presence, onsite and online), followed by Tashlich at ~1:30 p.m. at the Muddy River

Rosh Hashanah Day 2, Sunday, Sept. 17:

• 10 a.m., Lay-Led Rosh Hashanah Day 2 Service (in mixed presence, onsite and online)
• 2:00 p.m. Reverse Tashlich, offsite. During Tashlich, we symbolically cast our transgressions into the water. At the same time, our literal waterways suffer from the pollution of human wrongdoings. Join us for a “reverse Tashlich” by helping to clean up the Muddy River and learn more about how we can care for our local waterways with the Muddy Water Initiative. Registration is required.

Please note:

• Tickets are required for all onsite High Holy Day services except for S’lichot, the Shofar Experience, and the “Between Services” Learning Sessions on Yom Kippur afternoon.
• Our livestream services are open to the public, accessible on our website. For a full mixed-presence experience, members in good standing are invited to participate by Zoom.
