Join us for Tikkun Leil Shavuot, an interactive nighttime study session led by Rabbi Navah to prepare ourselves for the moment of revelation with pizza, beer, ice cream and cheesecake!
Topic 1: “The Ritual that Survived…Everything: The Offering of First Fruits in Deuteronomy”
Celebrate the revelation at Sinai, our receiving of the Torah, and the concluding festival of the harvest in Israel! We will study the biblical post-harvest declaration ritual recited by farmers when bringing their “first fruit” offerings. Get a glimpse into the ways in which our ancestors connected to God, the land of Israel, and how they blended the spiritual with the practical. Perhaps we might learn from them how to do the same during these complex times.

Topic 2: “Jerusalem of Gold — Celebrating Israel through Song!”
We will conclude our Tikkun by learning and singing this iconic Israeli folk song. Followed by more singing, for those who’d like to linger…
