Join CJP for a timely update on recent events in Syria and implications for Israel and the Middle East with Israel Defense Forces Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Jonathan Conricus, a senior fellow at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies.
For more than 50 years, the Syrian people have lived under the brutality of the Assad regime. Yet, within a period of 10 days, everything changed. A rebel offensive stormed across the country to the capital and President Bashar al-Assad fled to Russia, toppling the existing government and (hopefully) ending its reign of torture, oppression, murder, and civil war. These events unfolded as Israel, right next door, continues to fight a war.
As we watch the Middle East being reshaped and redefined every day, Jonathan will help us understand what happened in Syria, how it happened, and the potential consequences for Israel and the region.
