The Asiyah Jewish Community is excited to present an evening with Yiscah Smith. Yiscah will be sharing teachings from Rabbi Kalonymous Kalman Shapira, known as the Piasetzna Rebbe, on opening up to the spiritual life that is within all of us and reflecting personally on how these teachings have manifested in her life. Her talk will be anchored, at the beginning and end, by short periods of contemplative silence.
Following the talk, there will be an opportunity for questions and answers. Light refreshments will be served.
About Yiscah Smith
Yiscah is a Jewish educator, spiritual activist and published author who addresses the spiritual practice of encountering the Divine spark within, the foundation of authentic living. She employs her personal story of the joys and struggles with her spirituality, gender identity and commitment to authentic living. As one who transitioned from a Chabad man to an observant woman, she exemplifies what it means to carve one’s own path: understanding one’s inner being and cultivating the integrity to remaining faithful to that understanding, unapologetically. As a spiritual trailblazer, while carving her own path, Yiscah encourages, ennobles and empowers others to do the same.
