About the panelists:
Kerice Doten-Snitker is a social scientist and Complexity Postdoctoral Fellow at the Santa Fe Institute, with a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Washington, whose research explores institutionalization, the drivers of institutional change, and their processes. She is currently writing a book on how medieval German cities responded to political challenges with antisemitic violence and exclusion.
Jordan Berg Powers is a Ph.D. student at Brandeis University’s Heller School, former executive director of Mass Alliance, and a board member for multiple organizations, including the Jewish Liberation Fund and the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston.
Ron Hassner is the Chancellor’s Professor of Political Science and Helen Diller Family Chair in Israel Studies at UC Berkeley, and faculty director of the Berkeley Institute for Jewish Law and Israel Studies. He specializes in the role of ideas, practices, and symbols in international security, focusing on the intersection of religion and violence.
Jonathan Feingold’s scholarship examines the intersection of race, law, and the mind sciences, focusing on how American legal frameworks, like equal protection doctrine, sustain racial hierarchies. His work has been published in top law reviews, and he also hosts #RaceClass, a monthly conversation on race and racism in America.
