Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik, head of Yeshiva University’s rabbinical school and founder of Maimonides day school, was a giant of 20th-century American Modern Orthodoxy. After his death, a stack of handwritten notebooks was found in which he outlined his religious anthropology through a close reading of the opening chapters of Genesis.
