The New England Jewish Labor Committee’s 24th annual Labor Seder is a unique interfaith dinner where Jewish community leaders, labor leaders, elected officials, and community activists build bridges that enable us all to pursue justice with greater strength and resolve.

We will connect the Passover story with struggles for workplace justice today at our seder. The Labor Seder highlights issues we face in Massachusetts and the efforts being made to address them. It inspires participants to act to bring the voice of the Jewish community to bear in support of workplace equity.

This year we honor Rabbi Barbara Penzner of Temple Hillel B’nai Torah in recognition of her retirement after many years of bold, inspiring, and justice-oriented leadership, and in gratitude for her ongoing dedication and support of the NEJLC. We also honor Lou Antonellis, business manager of Local 103, IBEW, AFL-CIO. Lou’s leadership in diversifying the building trades and his pursuit of improving the wages and working conditions of electrical workers in New England exemplifies the new generation of labor leadership in the Boston area.

This year marks our 90th year as a national organization. In mystical Jewish numerology, the number 90 is symbolized by the Hebrew letter tzadik. The word tzadik translates to “righteous person.” To celebrate our 90th anniversary, we’ve added a special “Tzadik Sponsor” level that includes a full table, full-page ad with prominent placement, advertisement on our website, and more.
