About the Beat Midrash by Neta Weiner:

This session will explore the deep connection between artistic creation and social-political engagement. Through songs and spoken word in Arabic, Hebrew, English, and Yiddish, we’ll reflect on shared identity, collective responsibility, and the stories we choose to tell — all in service of building the kind of home we want to live in, together.

Neta Weiner is a multidisciplinary artist, rapper, playwright, and activist whose work bridges music, language, and resistance. A founding member of the groundbreaking collective System Ali and creator of the award-winning rap opera Shmuel, he performs in Arabic, Hebrew, Yiddish, and English, using art for political intervention and social transformation. Neta is a 2024-2025 JArts Community Creative Fellow.
